Epicurean Exchange and
The Friends of the Joaquin Moraga Adobe
An Afternoon of Cooking and Celebrating
Early California Rancho Cuisine
Sunday, March 22, 2015
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Epicurean Exchange Kitchen
2 Vallecito Lane, Orinda
Join Orinda resident and Chef Charles Vollmar of Epicurean Exchange, as he guides participating guests through a hands-on cooking experience preparing authentic dishes from the Early California - Rancho period. Learn about authentic ingredients and classic preparations as we all work together to prepare a festive meal from scratch and finish by enjoying the meal we created together. Groups will work side-by-side to prepare a number of classic dishes from 1840 California. With neighbors and new friends, we will all come together, in celebration of the Adobe, to learn and dine together as we sample the tastes and flavors of our local heritage. History will come alive as we will enjoy the foods and preparations that were at the center of the family celebrations of the period!
A multi-course buffet will be prepared and paired with period varietal wines and classic beverages.
All proceeds from this unique experience will go directly to supporting the Friends of the Joaquin Moraga Adobe and their efforts to preserve the Adobe for future generations!
